Chad Brown Struck on the Wrist but not Excessively

Everyone's favorite turf trainer, Chad Brown pled guilty to a harassment charge Monday morning in Saratoga Springs City Court. This guilty plea comes after his original charge (criminal obstruction of breathing) was reduced. Thankfully his domestic spending bill from the judge was a whopping $370, which coincidentally, is exactly how much we spent last week trying to fade his horses. Our sources are still working to see if the judge was also an avid Pink Floyd fan or not.

Chaddy Daddy did release the following statement highlighting that he regrets the details of his personal life being made public.

GulfStream Park Canceled Quinella Wagering

Racing Think Tank is reporting that in the first race at Gulfstream Park on November 11, someone seemingly sacrificed approximately $18,000 in a brazen manipulation of the quinella pool. Additionally, some of the odds displayed during the race changed after the race had been run leaving bettors wondering just what was going on.WhoDoYaLikeHereeeee?? Well, apparently no one likes the quinella bet anymore (except for whoever manipulated this particular pool) which forced GulfStream to ultimately cancel the bet moving forward. We reached out for further comment at Noon ET today but it's Florida and everyone was still out clubbing.

Kent's Back, Baby

Let's be honest, you've certainly had a few too many betting on the ponies from time to time, what's the big deal? Kent may have had his issues with alcohol as well but did you ever hold the U.S. record for most won races in a single year while having a problem? Didn't think so, Kent pulled off 598 wins in 1989!Read the full story about how Kent beat (sorry for the lack of a better term) his habits on the Daily Racing Form.

“This difference is my other previous occasions were court-ordered rehabs. This time, I did it on my own. This time, I want to be healthy. This time, I want it,” he said, with an emphasis on ‘I.’

Kent Desormeaux

Desormeaux’s first mount Friday at Del Mar is Her Perfect Vision in race 3 for trainer Quinn Howey. He rides Perfecto Amor in race 6 for trainer Adan Farias. We'll be cheering him on!

Fair Grounds is Back and Why You Should Care

Are you ready for some racing in Louisiana? If Fair Grounds wasn't on your radar before, it certainly should be now. The 80-day, 2022-2023 Fair Grounds racing season opens on Friday, November 18, and runs through Sunday, March 26. But, most importantly...

  • The Pick 5 is now a 15% takeout (down from 25%)

  • A brand new Pick 6 is being offered at 15% takeout

  • The new Pick 6 wager will be a $1 minimum wager. It will be “non-jackpot” and 75% of the after-takeout pool will be paid to all tickets with 6 winners. The other 25% will be paid to all those with 5 of 6 winners as a consolation. If no one has 6 winners, then 75% goes to the next day as a carryover and 25% is paid to all the consolation tickets.

  • One difference between the Fair Grounds and NYRA pick 6s is that the takeout does not increase at Fair Grounds in the case of a carryover. At NYRA, takeout on new money is 24 percent when there is a carryover. The Fair Grounds will maintain a 15 percent takeout on all pick 6 wagers regardless of carryover amount (if any).
