You've said it before, you could be a turf master. Well now is your chance, Kentucky Downs is hiring a Turf Course Manager. The Turf Course Manager keeps a keen focus on track maintenance schedules, has an eye for detail, and is diligent in executing their duties. R.I.P. Avery Whisman
It is with sad hearts to announce that the racing world has lost a great jockey from Presque Isle Downs, Avery Whisman. We don't know exactly what happened but there was a nice Twitter tribute here. Our thoughts go out to everyone that knew him and may he rest in peace.
Did You Know?
Did anyone else know that Joe Pesci did a horse racing documentary back in 2013? Yeah, well, neither did we but apparently, it's on Youtube for free to watch if you just click this link. Great way to kill an hour and a half as you wait for Gulfstream to load!

Are you following On The Wrong Lead yet on Youtube? These guys put out consistent videos and handicap races live. No, we're not getting paid to promote them, we're genuine fans! Go give these guys a follow, they put out great content and who doesn't love talking shit in their Youtube chat?
Walter Runs Turfway
Are you a Thursday night Turfway player because an electric bug boy is lighting up the tote board! His name is Walter Rodriguez and he's a native of El Salvador. He made his professional debut on June 17th at Laurel but has been shoving Corrales in a locker ever since at Turfway. This is a guy you want to watch out for. In all fairness to Corrales, he did say in this interview...
I've been teaching for the last 40 years and that's my passion. That's what I like to do. I love it,” Corrales said. “This kid deserves everything he gets. He learned everything by never giving up. He's a good listener and I'm glad I got him. I think he's going to have great things. He's got a good heart and he takes care of his grandmother and everything like that. I see a lot of future in this kid.
